Hierarchical, virtualised and distributed intelligence 5G architecture for low-latency and secure applications

چکیده
CHARISMA aims to tackle low-latency and end-to-end security for converged fixed/wireless 5G networks in order to meet the complex demands of emerging business paradigms, such as Smart Cities, eHealth and Industry 4.0. In this paper, we present the key drivers and requirements towards a hierarchical, distributed-intelligence 5G architecture, supporting low latency, security and open access as features intrinsic to its design. We also investigate the business perspective of the proposed 5G solution and the changes that can be foreseen for the telecom ecosystem. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Introducing Mobile Edge Computing Capabilities through Distributed 5G Cloud Enabled Small Cells
Current trends in broadband mobile networks are addressed towards the placement of different capabilities at the edge of the mobile network in a centralised way. On one hand, the split of the eNB between baseband processing units and remote radio headers makes it possible to process some of the protocols in centralised premises, likely with virtualised resources. On the other hand, mobile edge ...
متن کاملA 5G Cognitive System for Healthcare
Developments and new advances in medical technology and the improvement of people’s living standards have helped to make many people healthier. However, there are still large design deficiencies due to the imbalanced distribution of medical resources, especially in developing countries. To address this issue, a video conference-based telemedicine system is deployed to break the limitations of m...
متن کاملA Mobile and Fog-based Computing Method to Execute Smart Device Applications in a Secure Environment
With the rapid growth of smart device and Internet of things applications, the volume of communication and data in networks have increased. Due to the network lag and massive demands, centralized and traditional cloud computing architecture are not accountable to the high users' demands and not proper for execution of delay-sensitive and real time applications. To resolve these challenges, we p...
متن کامل5G Wireless Communications Systems: Heterogeneous Network Architecture and Design for Small Cells, D2D Communications (Low Range, Multi-hop) and Wearable Healthcare System on chip (ECG, EEG) for 5G Wireless
The major challenges in 5G wireless communication systems are the very high data rate, very low latency, very high mobility, very high density of users, very low energy cost and massive number of devices which cannot be addressed by the existing 4G-LTE, LTE-A. In this paper, heterogeneous networks architecture is proposed for the prospects of 5G wireless communications systems networks to addre...
